Ripple Effect (water science workshop)

Even one drop can cause a ripple. Join us at the Rosalia library (526 S Whitman Ave) on Thursday, August 28th, 2025 from 10:00 - 11:30 am to learn about your local stream's water quality! There is something to explore for ALL AGES at this event, so bring your family and friends! Feel free to stay the whole time or stop by for 15 minutes and see what we're up to.

We will begin at the library, take a short walk down to Pine Creek to collect water samples (weather-permitting), and then analyze our samples back at the library. You will learn how to measure temperature, pH, oxygen, and turbidity (clearness). You will also learn how to identify aquatic macroinvertebrates (water bugs!).

Please wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear comfortable enough for a short walk outside, and bring your water bottle.
