ABOUT THE ROCKETTZ NEW GENERATION
The Rockettz New Generation is a powerhouse band from Cape Town, South Africa, formed by former members of the legendary Rockets. With a fresh identity and a renewed passion for music, the group seamlessly blends classic hits with contemporary sounds, keeping the legacy alive while forging their own path.
Led by Manuel Losper, the band is known for their electrifying stage presence, soulful harmonies, and a musical repertoire that spans R&B, pop, rock, ballads, reggae, and South African classics. Whether performing timeless medleys, or original compositions, The Rockettz New Generation captivate audiences with their dynamic and heartfelt performances. Manuel continues to honour the legacy of The Rockets, but at the same time his vision for the band and his passion ensure that The Rockettz New Generation remain a force in South African music.
The Rockettz New Generation bring a high-energy, versatile performance style that fuses nostalgia with innovation. Their setlists feature medleys of legendary artists like Queen, Toto, Peter Cetera, George Benson, Prince, and Bryan Adams, while also incorporating original songs that resonate with fans across generations. The band is known for their ability to breathe new life into classics while staying true to their original essence.
Notable accolades:
• The band’s very busy gigging schedule last year and this year, with successful performances at numerous festivals, culminating in them performing at the DSTV Mitchell’s Plain Festival in December 2024 and at The Jazzathon at the V & A Waterfront in January this year, bear testimony to the band’s popularity. The band also had the honour of performing at a high-profile corporate function at Emperors Palace last year.
• Manuel Losper, a dynamic vocalist, songwriter and standout performer has become a defining voice in South African music. Renowned for his commanding stage presence, vocal prowess and versatility, Manuel has captivated audiences both locally and internationally, with his performance in 2016 on the national TV shows, “Noot vir Noot” and “Musiek Roulette”, solidifying his reputation as a top-tier vocalist and fan favourite.
• Manuel gained recognition as a bassist and lead vocalist for one of South Africa’s most iconic bands, The Rockets, and his time with the group saw him perform alongside legends such as Dr Victor & The Rasta Rebels at major events like the One Vision Concert at Grand West.
