Following several years of successful events, the historic Capitol Theatre (220 W. Dominick St.) will present its annual screening of CAT VIDEO FEST. The event is presented in partnership with the Humane Society of Rome and will take place on Sunday, September 21, at 2:30 PM.
CAT VIDEO FEST is a compilation reel of the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos, and classic internet powerhouses. CAT VIDEO FEST is an experience only available in theaters and raises money for cats in need through partnerships with local cat charities and animal welfare organizations. At this year’s event, the Humane Society of Rome will have cats available for adoption. The organization will also be collecting donations of cat litter, food, toys, and other items to benefit the animals in their care.
Although CAT VIDEO FEST is a curated program, the Capitol offers a special presentation of local cat videos before the feature. Central New Yorkers are invited to submit high-quality videos of up to 20 seconds. Please email video files to
anVsaWUgfCByb21lY2FwaXRvbCAhIGNvbQ== with “Cat Video” in the subject line. The Capitol asks that cats’ names be included in the email. Landscape videos, rather than portrait videos, are preferred. The submission deadline is Saturday, September 13.
CAT VIDEO FEST will run approximately 85 minutes and is family-friendly.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance at www.romecapitol.com. Admission is $8.00 for adults; $7.00 for students and military; $6.00 for Capitol “Friends,” and $4.00 for children 12 and under.
