Rohnert Park - Cotati Regional Library
6250 Lynne Condé Way, Rohnert Park, United States
In just a few weeks, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox on January 13, 2026. These cases will shape national precedent on sex-based sports categories and determine whether state laws protecting female athletics violate Title IX or the Equal Protection Clause. The outcomes will directly affect students, parents, coaches, schools, and communities across all 50 states.
As the national conversation intensifies, it is more important than ever to create spaces where people can listen and speak without fear, without caricature, and without intimidation determining who is allowed to participate.
Join us for a respectful and intellectually engaging dialogue on this important issue. We will begin with short speeches from both sides, followed by an opportunity for attendees to share their own perspectives if they wish. Our goal is not to “win” a debate but to foster understanding, honest inquiry, and healthy civic engagement.
Note: This program is neither sponsored by nor affiliated with the Sonoma County Library.
Info: Cynthia Cravens, former State Senate District 11 candidate, will open the event and establish our expectations for respect and civility.
Info: There will be 4 short speeches presenting both sides of the issue.
Info: The audience will have a chance to ask the speakers questions.
Info: Audience members will be invited to share their thoughts, if they wish, with 3 minute speeches.
