Wyoming PBS invites you to an encore screening of our original documentary, AFAR & BELOW: THE STORY OF THE WYOMING TRONA MINERS, on Monday, Dec. 15, at the Western Wyoming Community College Theater in Rock Springs.
Join us starting at 5:30 p.m. for hors d’oeuvres and a meet-and-greet with the filmmakers, Mark Pedri and Carrie McCarthy of Burning Torch Productions. There will be a cash bar, but all miners will receive one free drink courtesy of Searle Bros. Construction Co.
The screening will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers.
ABOUT THE FILM
The trona industry is deeply woven into Wyoming’s culture, yet the story of the miners who keep this massive industry running remains untold. During a day in their life underground, we dig into the community, culture, and history of these subterranean cities—and their impact on our lives back on the surface.
This is a FREE screening open to the public, sponsored in part by Searle Bros. Construction Co. and Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.
