Join us for an afternoon of stories with Terry L. Norton! As our featured guest, Terry's presentation at the Bahkita Arts Center will derive from his 2024 book, Monkey Tales Around the World, and will focus on how human beings have portrayed monkeys and apes in folk stories from different global cultures. After the featured presentation, we will break for refreshments, book sales, and socializing. All guests are invited to share for the open reading to follow!

Terry L. Norton is a retired professor from Winthrop University. He served for twenty-seven years on the faculty of the Richard W. Riley College of Education, where he taught courses in literacy methods and diagnosis, children’s literature, and young adult literature. He had previously served on the English faculties of Clemson and Francis Marion Universities. He is the author of journal articles on multiculturalism, storytelling, the teaching of reading and writing, and children’s and young adult literature. His books, written by himself or coauthored, include the following:

He is currently working on a book with the prospective title The Trickster Tricked: Tales of Deceivers Deceived.
