Introduction to Zen Meditation: Online Workshop

Whether you’re interested in learning about meditation practice or deepening the one you already have, Rochester Zen Center workshops provide a practical introduction to zazen (Zen meditation).

Sensei Jissai Prince-Cherry will open the online workshop with a brief talk on the principles of Zen and the basics of meditation.

Participants will then learn posture, breathing, and concentration techniques, followed by two 20-minute periods of zazen with a short walking meditation (kinhin) in between. We’ll close with a final discussion and Q&A, including time for questions about your own practice.

Whether you're brand new or just Zen-curious, all are welcome. Come as you are — no robes, incense, or prior experience required!

It’s a unique opportunity to learn first-hand from seasoned practitioners at one of the country’s largest and oldest Zen centers.
