Robertsdale High School is thrilled to welcome back one of its most accomplished alumni—Coach Jack Byerley—as he returns to where it all began!
Coach Byerley brings with him nearly 1,000 wins as a head coach and a staggering .773 career winning percentage, earned through a legendary career at the high school, collegiate, and national levels. His teams have claimed 10 conference or state championships, and he has coached over 90% of his players on to four-year universities.
🏆 Most recently, Coach Byerley served as Assistant Coach at Gulf Coast, helping lead three 30-win seasons from 2023–2025, including a 36–19 finish in 2025 and a fifth-place ranking in the highly competitive MACCC.
🥎 From championship runs at Northwest Florida State (380–158 record) to building a powerhouse at Central Alabama (205–47, 4 conference titles), his résumé speaks for itself. He's coached at SEC schools like Florida and Auburn, led NJCAA All-Americans, and even brought Robertsdale two state titles back when fast-pitch was first introduced in Alabama!
Coach Byerley is a fierce competitor, a player developer, and a true Golden Bear at heart. He’s returning to RHS alongside his wife, Coach April Byerley, and we couldn’t be more excited to have them back on campus.
Come out on Friday, July 28th at 6 PM in the RHS Cafeteria to meet the man behind the legacy. Let’s pack the house and give him the warmest welcome back to Bear Nation! 🐻💛
