World Drumming Series
Explore rhythm from around the world in this four-week drumming series designed for beginners and curious music lovers. Each week highlights a different global drumming tradition, with hands-on instruction and group participation.
Participants will learn foundational rhythms, cultural context, and ensemble-style playing in a relaxed, welcoming environment. No prior drumming experience is needed.
Weekly focus includes:
USA: New Orleans–style Second Line rhythms rooted in celebration and community
Brazil: High-energy Samba rhythms that build timing, coordination, and flow
Japan: Taiko-inspired festival rhythms emphasizing power, precision, and unity
Middle East: Traditional rhythms exploring pattern, texture, and musical storytelling
Classes meet Mondays starting February 2 for four weeks, with each session running 90 minutes.
This series offers a fun, engaging way to experience global cultures through rhythm while supporting creativity, stress relief, and connection. Drums will be provided or shared as needed.
