Old Southwest, Inc. is thrilled to introduce Old Southwest PorchFest, created to bring our Roanoke community together through live music!
Old Southwest PorchFest is sponsored by AFOG Brewing and takes place just blocks from their location. Music stages include two residential front porches on Marshall and Day Avenues near 8th Street SW. Eleven+ different local musicians, bands, and musical styles are featured.
This year’s PorchFest coincides with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony and celebration for Day Avenue Pocket Park, an all-volunteer OSW Inc. project that has transformed two vacant lots into a mini urban pollinator and wildlife oasis.
Along with music throughout the day, this free family-friendly event includes food trucks, plein-air artists in the park, a lantern-making workshop for our upcoming October 25 Halloween Lantern Parade, native plant information and identification, interactive art activities, and an art raffle to support an Old Southwest Mural Project. AFOG will serve as the event's nearby watering hole.
Join us to celebrate some of the charm of Old Southwest, support Roanoke's local flourishing musical talent, meet your neighbors, and explore one of Roanoke's very special urban communities. Learn how to get involved with OSW Inc. and support other events like this one!
