Needle Felted Winter Birds

The Roan Mountain area is currently under a Winter Storm Warning which forecasts heavy snow and potentially hazardous driving conditions throughout the weekend. Out of an abundance of caution, the Needle Felted Winter Birds program scheduled for this Sunday, February 1, 2026, from 1:30PM to 3:30PM will have to be rescheduled again. The new program date will be pushed to Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 1:00PM to 3:30PM to hopefully avoid any further severe winter weather.

Join Park Interpretive Ranger Price to learn more about winter birds and celebrate national bird day with a fun craft! During this program, participants will learn about one of the most iconic backyard winter birds – the cardinal – and create their own needle felted cardinal to take home.

Registration is required as space is limited to 15 participants and costs $10 per participant. All materials will be provided. No experience needed – bring your curiosity and willingness to learn! We will meet at the Conference Center at 1:00 PM.
