Buy a new purse and help save a dog's life! Go shopping Saturday, May 9, for new accessories while benefiting the sick and injured shelter pups!
Friends of the Shelter is holding our annual sale of new and gently used purses and jewelry to raise funds for the sick and injured shelter dogs. It's perfect timing to shop for Mother's Day gifts, too!
Some handbag brands include Kate Spade, Coach, Dooney and Bourke, Fossil, and Louis Vuitton. Jewelry includes Kendra Scott, Silpada, Stella & Dot, Lia Sophia, vintage, and handcrafted pieces. Most items will be priced between $3 and $50.
Purses & Pearls will be held in the community room of the Franklin County Dog Shelter and Adoption Center.
In addition to the in-person event, a small online auction started today, Friday, May 8 at 7 a.m. and will run through Sunday, May 10, at 8 p.m.
Friends of the Shelter is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501c3 organization (separate from the Franklin County Dog Shelter). We fund the extraordinary medical needs for dogs in the care of the shelter. This can include orthopedic surgeries, internal medicine consultations/treatments/surgeries, eye and heart surgeries, neurological consultations & treatment, parvovirus treatment & hospitalization, etc. This type of medical expense is not included in the shelter's budget; our group gives sick & injured shelter dogs a second chance to find a forever family. Each year, we fund about $200,000 in medical care for the dogs at Franklin County Dog Shelter. Learn more at friendsoftheshelter.org. Thank you for your support!
