Please join us in the North Fields of Antrim Park and we'll complete the requirements for your Cub scout to earn their Whittling (Bear), Chef's Knife (Webelos) and Knife Safety (AOL) adventure. Please review the 'Cub Scout Knife Safety Rules' with your Scout before the event.
*BRING YOUR OWN POCKETKNIFE* (all other supplies will be provided)!
Show up at your registered time and plan to spend about an hour completing your requirements.
$10.00 fee covers registration, supplies, patch and completion card (no belt loops will be provided)
The event runs from 10am - 4pm. Registration closes at 3pm! Walk-Ins welcome!
Bear Whittling:
Requirement 1
Read, understand, and promise to abide by the “Cub Scout Knife Safety Rules.”
Requirement 2
Demonstrate the knife safety circle.
Requirement 3
Demonstrate that you know how to care for and use your pocketknife safely.
Requirement 4
Make two carvings with a pocketknife
Webelos Chef Knife:
Requirement 1
Read, understand, and promise to follow the “Cub Scout Knife Safety Rules.”
Requirement 2
Demonstrate the knife safety circle.
Requirement 3
Demonstrate that you know how to care for and use a kitchen knife safely.
Requirement 4
Choose the correct cooking knife and demonstrate how to properly slice, dice, and mince.
AOLS Knife Safety:
Requirement 1
Know the safety rules for handling and using a knife.
Requirement 2
Demonstrate the knife safety circle.
Requirement 3
Demonstrate that you know how to care for and use a knife safely.
Requirement 4
Demonstrate the proper use of a pocketknife to make a useful object on a campout.
Requirement 5
Choose the correct cooking knife and demonstrate how to properly slice, chop, and mince.
