Join the Franklin County Dog Shelter & Adoption Center for our annual Clear the Shelters Sleepover Event, kicking off on Friday, August 29th!
Whether you're ready to adopt or just want to help, this event is for everyone and you do not have to live in Franklin County to participate!
How It Works!
🎒 Host a dog for a weekend (or longer!) sleepover to help them stretch their legs, experience new adventures all while getting a break from the kennels! We provide all supplies, you provide a comfy home, the snuggles, and lots of love.

Congratulations! Most adoptions can be finalized by phone, and $18 adoption specials still apply!
📆 Sleepover Pickup Times
Friday, August 29 | 11:00am – 7:00pm
Saturday, August 30 | 9:00am – 5:00pm
📍Location: 4340 Tamarack Blvd, Columbus, OH 43229
🕐 Sleepover Returns Start:
Sunday, August 31 at 9:00am
Want to keep the fun going? You can extend your sleepover up to 1 week past 8/31, just email your adoption counselor!
✅ What You Need to Know
Must be 18+ with a valid ID
Walk-in event – no appointments or holds
First-come, first-served – arrive early and bring a list of dogs you may be interested in to expedite the check in process.

→ Dogs listed as "In foster home" are not at the shelter and not eligible for this event. Email

👉 For their own safety and comfort, owned pets will not be permitted inside of the shelter.
If you need to bring your dog along for a meet and greet, please bring a friend or family member who can stay with your dog on leash while you are inside.
