Learn why River Falls looks the way it does. Why are there falls? Why are
there bluffs? Why is the upper Kinni a broad valley with fertile farmland
and the lower Kinni is a narrow rocky gorge.
Since the initial surveys of Wisconsin’s geology published in the late
1800s, geologists have learned a remarkable amount about the diverse
geologic history of western Wisconsin. River Falls is a particularly exciting
area where the forces of water, wind, and ice over geologic time have
shaped the landscape we see and enjoy in unique ways. In this
presentation, we will learn about the factors and forces shaping our
region and what makes our part of the world such a special place!
This is a free presentation open to the public. Come and socialize (from 6:00-6:30) and enjoy complimentary snacks and beverages.
