Join experienced textiles tutor Betty Brown in this workshop to make your own fabric picture.
You might want to make a picture of your cat, dog, teddy bear or cockatoo, or of your favourite food! For the more adventurous Betty can even help you create a portrait of a loved one. Alternatively you can just turn up and help yourself to Betty's templates (teapots, cups, fruit, dragons etc) to make your own design on the day.
Once you have an idea of what you want your picture to look like, you will cut the pieces out of lovely recycled fabrics and sew them by hand onto a backing piece. Then it's time to add embellishments and details to your heart's desire!
If you have an idea of what you would like to do, please bring a design along on paper, but DON'T bring an original photograph because you will need to cut it up to make the templates for your picture.
The techniques Betty will show you are quick and easy because she likes to get things FINISHED. And while we can all admire perfect stitching, it isn't necessary for this make, so this session will suit people of all abilities.
