The NRA Range Safety Officer (RSO) Class was developed in response to the demand for a nationally recognized range safety officer certification. To become a NRA Range Safety Officer, you must pass the RSO course and demonstrate that you possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations. It is designed for shooters who would like to be able to put their knowledge and skills to work as a range officer at a club, range or a shooting event. Prospective RSOs are people who possess the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and firing range operations.
Candidates must be over the age of 21 and should be experienced shooters that are involved in aspects of target shooting, firearms training, and/or range supervision. Becoming an NRA Certified Range Safety Officer will help to expand your current knowledge of firearms.
