Ever wanted to try yourself behind the decks but didn’t know where to start?
On October 4, Skapis turns into an open workshop space where every beginner woman, non-binary and queer person can take their very first steps in DJing.
DJ, producer, and cultural activist Ksenia Kamikaza together with DJ and supervisor Freiya March will host a free introductory workshop, where you’ll get:
• hands-on introduction to the equipment,
• basics of beatmatching and mixing,
• insights on how to build a set and find your unique voice in music.
Who is it for?
✨ For women, queer and non-binary people who want to try DJing for the first time.
✨ For those who’ve always dreamed of it but thought: “it’s too late,” “I don’t have any experience,” “I don’t belong” — it’s exactly the opposite, this is the format made for you.
✨ For anyone looking for a supportive, safe space and eager to meet like-minded people.
✨ Have you already played at friends’ parties and feel ready for more? Not sure how to move forward in this male-dominated profession? We’re here to answer all your questions.
We’re creating an atmosphere where you can ask anything and learn without pressure. No prior experience required. This is not a lecture but an interactive, hands-on process. Here you’ll find new friends and support that stays with you beyond the workshop.
✨ Come as you are — leave ready to shape your sound.
