✨ Sessions:
Dr. Hannes Cools (University of Amsterdam) will share research-in-progress conducted with journalists and audiences, highlighting three key challenges of ethical AI in journalism. In the second session, he’ll guide participants to reflect on practical requirements, guidelines, and approaches for responsible AI use in the newsroom.
Sergei Yakupov will be leading two sessions titled “Now and Then: How This The Beatles’ Song of 2024 Helps Us Understand the Present and Future of AI and News Media Symbiosis”. Using 200+ global newsroom examples, he’ll show how AI is currently implemented, highlight transparency gaps, and explore future scenarios for AI and journalism.
This seminar is the first step toward the EthicAI Accord 2025-2026 training programme – a chance to test, learn, and shape ethical AI use in journalism together.
