Elephant Gun are a Rock Band formed in Riga, Latvia in 2024, comprising of John Marcley II on drums and backing vocals, Max Dimario on guitar, lead and backing vocals and Raul Stone on bass, lead and backing vocals.
The band explores several musical styles with predominant emphasis on 70’s Classic Rock format due to common musical influences and backgrounds.
All three members grew up in North America listening to classic epic icons such as Led Zeppelin, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Deep Purple, etc. Elephant Gun plays covers by said bands as well as compositions with a fresher lyrical and structural approach to the genre in a new light. The band is currently in the process of writing original material for a debut album later this year.
John Marcley II has extensive live and studio experience in both the US, Europe and Latvia in the last 10 years. John has played with an array of local and international musicians touring all over the US and Europe. Most recently John has collaborated with local Icons including Egons from the Liepaja band The Hobos, Louie Fontaine and currently in Stranded Jenny. He’s well known among local musicians and has played in most venues in several cities in the Baltics.
Growing up in the New Orleans scene, John is a rock powerhouse and has explored a number of percussion and musical styles throughout his career.
Raul Stone started as a classically trained guitarist and has played in a couple of rock bands in Los Angeles in the late 90’s in several venues of the Hollywood and Long Beach scenes, most notably at the legendary Anti Club on Melrose Av. (where the Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Cult, Sonic Youth and many others had their first gigs in the late 70’s and early 80’s), The Venice Club in Hollywood, The Roxy, The Rumpus Room and several High Schools.
In Paris, France, with his own band as a singer guitarist and writer at The Hard Rock Cafe Paris, The Hideout, The O‘Sullivans Pub and several other venues.
Raul’s current instrument is the bass guitar with Elephant Gun.
Max Dimario grew up in the Toronto rock scene and was captivated by the guitar at an early age. His fascination for Jimi Hendrix and other classic rock icons has propelled him to develop a unique tone and command of his chosen instrument while at the same time displaying impressive qualities in singing.
Max is also an avid listener of Chopin and developed a fascination for the piano early on. He also has extensive experience in writing, recording and producing as he is proficient in synthesisers and builds his own guitar amplifiers and effects. Max has also collaborated with a rock radio station in Rome improving their sound quality and sometimes even interviewing multiple artists touring at the time including David Bowie, Robert Plant, Michael Hutchence and many others.
