Koncerts, kurā satiekas divi sintezatoru kamerorķestri, pārstāvot divu spilgtu Baltijas elektroniskās mūzikas komponistu balsis no dažādām paaudzēm.
📌 30. novembrī plkst. 19.00 Hanzas peronā klausītāji aicināti pieredzēt Latvijas mūzikas dzīvē līdz šim nebijušu notikumu - elektroniskās mūzikas koncertu diviem sintezatoru kamerorķestriem. Vakara programmā pirmatskaņojums - komponistes Annas Fišeres jaundarbs Noesis astoņiem izpildītājiem un četrpadsmit sintezatoriem, piedaloties mūziķiem no Latvijas klasiskās un elektroniskās mūzikas scēnām, savukārt pirmo reizi dzīvajā izpildījumā - Igaunijas elektroniskās mūzikas leģendas Svena Grunberga (Sven Grünberg) skaņdarbi Igaunijas Elektroniskās mūzikas savienības ansambļa (EMA) sniegumā.
📌 Annas Fišeres skaņdarba Noesis ideja balstīta Platona koncepcijā par augstāko izziņas formu kā tiešu, intuitīvu patiesības uztveri. Tas ir ambiciozs opuss astoņiem izpildītājiem un četrpadsmit sintezatoriem, kas tiecas izaicināt pieņēmumu par akadēmisko un elektronisko mūziku kā divām nošķirti eksistējošām radošas izpausmes telpām. Savienojot laikmetīgās kompozīcijas tehnikas, kamerorķestra muzicēšanas modeli un elektroniskos instrumentus, Noesis ir mēģinājums muzikāli atspoguļot mijiedarbību starp cilvēka intuīciju un mašīnas algoritmisko precizitāti, kur spontānais un loģiskais savijas vienā muzikālā procesā.
📌 Pateicoties ciešai sadarbībai ar Latvijas elektronisko instrumentu ražotāju Erica Synths, skaņdarbā tiek izmantots iespaidīgs un daudzveidīgs instrumentu klāsts, kombinējot digitālos, modulāros un analogos sintezatorus, kas tapuši, sākot jau no pagājušā gadsimta septiņdesmitiem gadiem līdz pat mūsdienām. Iedvesmojoties no rituāla kā muzikālā virzītājspēka, sintezatoru atkārtotās frāzes, modulācijas un cikliskie procesi rada ritmisku un meditatīvu plūsmu, sasaistot harmoniskās un spektrālās struktūras vienotā skaņdarba iekšējā dinamikā. Akordu struktūras un tembri radīti, balstoties spektrālisma skolas principos, par kompozīcijas izejas punktu pieņemot tieši pašas skaņas akustiskās īpašības.
📌 Bet koncerta pirmajā daļā pirmo reizi dzīvajā izpildījumā kopā ar pašu komponistu pieredzēsim igauņu komponista Svena Grunberga mūziku no albumiem Hingus un OM (1988), kā arī zinātniskās fantastikas kulta filmas Mirušā alpīnista viesnīca (1979) skaņu celiņa, ko atskaņojumam uz skatuves padarījuši pieejamu Igaunijas Elektroniskās mūzikas savienības ansambļa mūziķi. Svens Grunbergs ir elektroniskās mūzikas kustības aizsācējs Igaunijā un viens no pirmajiem, kurš pievērsās šim medijam toreizējā padomju savienībā. Savu radošo darbību viņš aizsāka jau 1970. gados, darbojoties gan kā progresīvā roka apvienības Mess līderis, gan izdodot neskaitāmus studijā tapušus elektroniskās mūzikas ierakstus un radot mūziku vairāk nekā simts kinofilmām. Jau no pirmsākumiem Grunberga elektroniskās mūzikas darbos izpaužas komponista interese par tālo austrumu kultūrām un filosofiju, kā tas ir arī Rīgas koncerta programmā ieļautajos Hingus un OM.
📌 Igaunijas Elektroniskās mūzikas savienības ansamblis (Ensemble of the Estonian Electronic Music Society jeb EMA) dibināts 2017. gadā ar mērķi attīstīt elektroniskās mūzikas kustību Igaunijā un atskaņot elektronisko kamermūziku dzīvajā izpildījumā. Viņu spēles manieri raksturo centieni pārvarēt tehnoloģiskā medija radītos šķēršļus, sasniedzot smalku, jutīgu mijiedarbi mūziķu starpā, kas ļauj izcelt šo instrumentu nebeidzamās skaniskās iespējas.

📌 On November 30 at 19:00 at Hanzas Perons, listeners are invited to experience the first-of-its-kind event in Latvia’s musical life – an electronic music concert featuring two synthesizer chamber orchestras.
📌 The concert features a premiere of Anna Fišere’s Noesis for eight performers and fourteen synthesizers, bringing on stage musicians from Latvia’s classical and electronic music scenes, alongside the works by Estonian electronic music pioneer Sven Grünberg, for the very first time played live by the Ensemble of the Estonian Electronic Music Society (EMA).
📌 The core idea of Anna Fišere’s Noesis is rooted in Plato’s idea of the highest form of knowledge as a direct, intuitive perception of truth. Written for eight performers and fourteen synthesizers, this ambitious opus seeks to challenge the assumption of academic and electronic music as two separate territories of creative expression. By combining contemporary compositional techniques, the chamber orchestra model of performance, and electronic instruments, Noesis attempts to reflect musically the interaction between human intuition and the algorithmic precision of the machines, where spontaneity and logic intertwine within a single musical process.
📌 Thanks to close collaboration with the Latvian electronic instrument manufacturer Erica Synths, the work employs an impressive and varied range of instruments, combining digital, modular, and analogue synthesizers developed from the 1970s to the present day. Drawing inspiration from ritual as a musical driving force, the repeated phrases, modulations, and cyclical processes of the synthesizers create a rhythmic and meditative flow, interweaving harmonic and spectral structures into the inner dynamics of the composition. The chordal structures and timbres are based on the principles of the spectralism school, taking the acoustic properties of sound itself as the compositional point of departure.
📌 In the first part of the concert, for the very first time in live performance and with the composer himself present, the audience will experience Sven Grünberg’s music from the albums Hingus and OM (1988), as well as the soundtrack to the cult science fiction film Dead Mountaineer’s Hotel (1979). These works have now been made available for live performance on stage by the Ensemble of the Estonian Electronic Music Society. Sven Grünberg is a pioneer of electronic music in Estonia and among the first to explore the medium in the Soviet Union. He began his career in the 1970s as the leader of the progressive rock group Mess, has released numerous studio-recorded electronic music albums, and composed music for more than a hundred feature films. From the outset, Grünberg’s electronic works have been shaped by his fascination with Far Eastern cultures and philosophy, a quality also reflected in the music of Hingus and OM.
📌 The Ensemble of the Estonian Electronic Music Society was founded in 2017 with the aim to promote and develop electronic music in Estonia, and to perform electronic chamber music on stage. Their performance style is distinguished by efforts to overcome the barriers imposed by technological media, achieving a subtle, sensitive interplay between musicians that highlights the endless sonic possibilities of different electronic instruments.
