About the courses:
The course is intended for physiotherapists and physiotherapy students who are interested in understanding movement, movement quality, and the practice of developing and teaching movement awareness. According to Skjaerven et al. (2010), physiotherapists ability to create conscious movement and apply this knowledge in practice is one of the key prerequisites for promoting movement quality in their work.
What is BBAT?
BBAT (Basic Body Awareness Therapy) is an evidence-based physiotherapy approach. We work through movements in lying, sitting and standing. We practice movements in pairs, use of voice and touch. It is used in rehabilitation, stress reduction and occupational health improvement. Studies confirm the positive effects of BBAT in cases of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, pain, fibromyalgia, trauma, personality disorders and schizophrenia. BBAT also helps physiotherapists take care of their well-being.
Content:
Theory: how the connection between balance, free breathing and awareness is reflected in the quality of movement on the physical, physiological, psycho-socio-cultural and existential levels
to learn and imbody BBAT movements and internalizing them to support well-being. Inner ergonomy.

Guidance for 45 hours of independent practice after in-person training, BBAT literature familiarization (in English) and writing a report on all this by 30.5.2026.
The Aim
Participant knows the theoretical starting points and practical application possibilities of the BBAT through personal experience
participant learn and know the basic exercises of the BBAT method and how to use them
participant gain knowledge of the BBAT method, its basics and the quality of movement
After the training, participant is able to tackle a learning assignment and write a report about it
Part 2 of the training is planned for the summer of 2026.
