This 3-part online workshop series supports both international students and local students in navigating the challenges of adapting to a new academic and cultural environment. Whether you're adjusting to life in a new country or simply transitioning from a smaller community to university life in the city, this series offers a supportive space to explore shared experiences such as culture shock, loneliness, academic pressure, and the search for new friendships. Through practical tools and guided reflection, the workshops aim to build confidence, foster connection, and help students feel more at home in a diverse and dynamic student community. Students are welcome to register for all three workshops or choose to attend a separate workshop on the subject they are most interested in.
The final session, Building Cross-Cultural Friendships & Social Support, focuses on developing communication skills, overcoming social anxiety, and building meaningful connections in a multicultural environment. Each session combines reflection, discussion, and practical tools to foster well-being and belonging.
