As a community in a small town, we are mighty still in numbers as a group of family & friends are putting together a Benefit to show our support for Laura & Bobby Cook and Brooklynn Wells, her Mom Miranda Cook, Dad Khyri Wells, & Brooklynn's siblings.
So much hit this family at once as Bobby & Laura traveled to see their son and his family in the South and help them move from Louisiana to Georgia, and Bobby suddenly became ill, and ended up in ICU for weeks that he's now on dialysis 3 times per week, and unable to work. As he made progress, they set out to make the long drive home as they couldn't fly with Bobby's condition, Khyri & Miranda and family & friends tried to get the house ready for their return. As they did this Khyri was mowing the lawn as Brooklynn was out checking the grapevine, and a tragic accident occurred as Brooklynn suffered a traumatic foot injury with the mower and was life flighted by Trooper 7 to Salisbury, MD (due to bad weather)where she was transferred to a Trauma Center in Delaware and has undergone numerous surgeries and amputation as a result. Her Dad & Mom made a lot of sacrifices in trying to spread themselves between being with Brooklynn and caring for their younger daughter Autumn & son KJ. Losing time at work, leave, pay, and energy. On July 31st, Brooklynn was able to go home, but still has a long road ahead.
As a community, as friends & family to all of them, we want to show our love and support and try to relieve some of their stress and burdens piled from all that has happened.
Mark your calendar and join us at Ridge Firehouse on Saturday October 25th from 2pm-10pm for an event full of live performances, DJ Wild Wes, & a Kids area of entertainment too! We request a Donation of $20 per person, $40 per family.
There will be food & soda/water for sale.
BYOB (Must be 21, ID will be checked at the door)
We will have a silent Auction going as well as other opportunities to show your support!
We will be able to accept all donations in Cash, and there will be a Mobile ATM on site that day.
💯% of the Donations will go to the Cook & Wells families.
