The Friday night series at PORTAL is designed to help you release the stress of the week and welcome the weekend with special offerings in sober community to get closer to yourself.
This week, we'll be led by Liz Bowden. Here is some more about Liz:
"My life’s work is rooted in reconnecting people to the wisdom of the earth and empowering them to recognize their unique place in the web of life. Through my heart-centered business, ReWild Spirit, I offer ecocentric mentorship and wellness events that help individuals and groups shed old patterns, expand their capacity for joy and ease, and step boldly into their most authentic selves as leaders within their communities.
This work is sacred to me because I’ve lived it. My path continues to evolve, and I’m honored to walk it alongside others who feel the call to reconnect, rewild, and remember who they truly are."
Breathwork is a powerful yet simple practice where you consciously control your breathing to improve your mental, emotional, and physical state. Breathwork is a return to yourself.
Below are some benefits of Breathwork:
Reduces Stress and Anxiety
Breathwork activates the parasympathetic nervous system-basically your body’s ‘rest and relax’ mode-helping calm your mind and reduce feelings of stress and overwhelm.
Boosts Mental Clarity and Focus
By increasing oxygen flow to the brain, breathwork can sharpen your thinking and bring a sense of clarity, which is great for when you’re feeling foggy or scattered.
Improves Emotional Health
Breathwork can help release stored emotions or tension, making it a great tool for emotional healing or just processing a tough day.
Enhances Energy and Vitality
Some breathing techniques can actually boost your energy levels and leave you feeling more alive and present.
Supports Better Sleep
Certain breath patterns are incredibly effective at calming the body for deeper, more restful sleep.
Strengthens Mind-Body Connection
Breath is a bridge between the body and mind. When you tune into your breathing, you become more aware of your body, feelings, and inner state.
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows you to relax and breathe with ease. You’re invited to bring a journal, water, an eye mask or pillow, and any small items—like crystals, tokens, or objects—that help you feel grounded and safe in your space
You'll need:
Comfortable clothing
Yoga mat
Journal + pen
Water
Eye mask or pillow
Crystals, tokens, or any grounding objects that help you feel safe
This Breathwork offering will guide you through a 2-part breath pattern, using the mouth for all inhales and exhales—breathing into the belly, then the chest, and releasing through the mouth.
Feel free to come a little early to check in, pour yourself tea, socialize and get settled in. Stay a little late to journal and wrap up. The breathwork class will take place 6-7pm. You can expect to be here from 5:45-7:15.
Registration is required.
There are no refunds offered. Please communicate regarding your attendance.
