You’ll race against other banh mi lovers to see who can finish their giant banh mi in the fastest time.

Event Details

Location: Victoria Street Lunar Festival | Main Stage, Nicholson Street (next to Abbots Yard)

Date: 1 February 2026

Time: Please select your time slot on the booking page. All registered contestants must arrive 10 minutes before their booked time for check-in and setup.

Prize: 1st Place: $500 total ($300 cash and $200 voucher)

Banh Mi Ingredients - Please do not enter if you are allergic to any of these ingredients:

• Wheat flour bread, chicken
• Carrot, daikon, cucumber
• Garlic, chilli, coriander, spring onion
• Vinegar, fish sauce, soy sauce, mayonnaise
• Fried shallots

Terms and Conditions

• These terms apply to all contestants in the Victoria Street Lunar Festival Banh Mi Eating Competition.
• You cannot participate unless you agree to these terms.
• By entering and paying the competition fee, I agree that:

1. Assumption of Risk
   I understand that eating competitions involve some risk of choking, illness or injury. I accept full responsibility for my own safety and agree to take proper care of myself.
2. Release of Liability
   I release and hold harmless the Victoria Street Lunar Festival trustees, employees, volunteers, agents and partners from any and all liability, loss, injury or claims arising from my participation in this Banh Mi Eating Competition.
3. Medical Treatment
   In case of an emergency, I authorise event staff to arrange any medical treatment they consider necessary.
4. Rules and Behaviour
   I have read, understood and agree to follow all rules and instructions given by the event organisers and staff.
5. Governing Law
   I agree that this agreement is governed by the laws of Australia.

By paying the entry fee, I confirm that I have read, understood and voluntarily agree to these terms and conditions.
