The Richland Players invite you to audition for Wit, Margaret Edson’s Pulitzer Prize–winning play, directed by Jess Howard.
This powerful and deeply human story examines end-of-life during ongoing medical treatment through the eyes of Vivian Bearing—an accomplished 17th-century poetry professor undergoing experimental cancer treatments.
The script contains deeply challenging themes surrounding medicine, mortality, and human connection. The director’s goal is for audiences to feel and ponder the marriage of intellect and emotion as they come away from this story—so that the heartfelt person might find a greater love for the intellectual, and the brainy person might discover a deeper logic behind caring.
