Lavender Lounge is a monthly social event designed as a safe and welcoming space for LGBTQ+ community members, allies, family, and friends.
Join us for an evening of connection, creativity, and fun! Each month will feature activities, games, art-making, karaoke and fun Guests will also have the chance to share feedback and help shape future events. This is free and open to the public.
For our January gathering we will have a sound bath experience and a journaling activity. Guests will settle in for a relaxing Sound Experience offered by Michele from Bath and Body Creations. First you can get cozy with your favorite pillow and blanket either lying or sitting in a comfortable position. As the sound waves wash over you, the stress and tension melts away. Connecting deep within your heart space surrounded with love, All you need to do is breathe and relax.
Journaling: A journal is a book of blank pages waiting for the writer to share pieces of their life as it happens. It wants the real you. Your authentic feelings, thoughts, dreams, struggles, problems, happy times& bad times. It will always be there for you. From your writing you can see your life more clearly & decide how to proceed to make things go smoothly. We will do a 15 min write after the talk.
Darlene Cole has been an avid journal writer all of her adult life. During grad classes in educational psychology she wrote journals connected to her classes. From there she became intrigued with what it revealed in she & her clients.
Working in schools she incorporated journaling with her music program & counseling. She has lead numerous workshops at retreat centers.
One of her life missions is to help people see how journal writing will increase happiness in their life.
