Rannsóknarverkefnið Fókus á fjölskyldur í réttlátum umskiptum varpar ljósi á lykilhlutverk íslenskra fjölskyldna í loftslagsaðgerðum og sjálfbærni. Þann 9. október verður opin kynning á helstu áherslum verkefnisins og framkvæmd þess, en í rannsókninni er fléttað saman úrvinnslu úr viðtölum við íslenskar fjölskyldur og rannsókn á birtingarmyndum fjölskyldna og umhverfisaðgerða í bókmenntum og kvikmyndum.

Markmið rannsóknarinnar er að kanna hvernig réttlát umskipti geta orðið að veruleika í daglegu lífi fólks og hvernig hugmyndir um fjölskyldu, samfélag og náttúru birtast bæði í menningu og reynslu fólks um land allt. Áhersla er lögð á náið samstarf rannsakenda, fjölskyldna og stefnumótandi aðila og er kynningarfundurinn fyrsti liður í opnu samtali við almenning.
Rannsóknin hlaut styrk frá British Academy og er samstarfsverkefni Háskóla Íslands og Brunel háskóla.
Viðburðurinn fer fram í nýuppgerðu húsnæði Sögu, Hagatorgi, stofu 227. Verkefnisstjórar munu þar taka til máls, kynna vefsíðu verkefnisins og svara spurningum, en þau eru Auður Aðalsteinsdóttir, forstöðumaður Rannsóknaseturs HÍ í Þingeyjarsveit, Auður Magndís Auðardóttir, dósent á menntavísindasviði HÍ, Utsa Mukherjee, dósent í menntavísindum við Brunel háskóla, Rannveig Ágústa Guðjónsdóttir, nýdoktor í uppeldis- og menntunarfræði, og Angela Snæfellsjökuls Rawlings, nýdoktor í menningarfræðum.

The research project Centring Families in Iceland’s Just Transition sheds light on the key role of Icelandic families in climate action and sustainability. On October 9, there will be a public presentation of the project’s main emphases and its implementation, which combines processing from interviews with Icelandic families and research into the manifestations of families and environmental action in literature and film.

The aim is to explore how a just transition can be realized in people's everyday lives and how ideas about family, society and nature are reflected in culture and people’s experience around the country. Emphasis is placed on close collaboration between researchers, families and policymakers, and the presentation is the first step in an open dialogue with the public.
The research received funding from the British Academy and is a collaborative project between the University of Iceland and Brunel University.
The event will take place in a newly renovated Saga, Hagatorg, room 227. The project’s team will give short introductions, present the project’s website and answer questions. They are Auður Aðalsteinsdóttir, Director of the Research Center of the University of Iceland in Þingeyjarsveit, Auður Magndís Auðardóttir, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Education and Pedagogy at the University of Iceland, Utsa Mukherjee, Senior Lecturer in Education at Brunel University, Rannveig Ágústa Guðjónsdóttir, Postdoctoral Researcher in Education and Pedagogy, and Angela Snæfellsjökuls Rawlings, Postdoctoral Researcher in Cultural Studies.
