Thomas og Jesper eru slagverkssnillingar sem mynda tvíeykið Trash. Þeir leiða gesti Litla tónsprotans, ásamt Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands, inn í kraftmikinn og spennandi hljóðheim þar sem klassískur flutningur rennur saman við óhefðbundin hljóðfæri og einstaka hljóðgjafa. Slagverksleikararnir nota m.a. ruslatunnur, hjól og rör á frumlegan og skapandi hátt þar sem hávaða er breytt í hljómandi fegurð. Tónleikagestum er boðið að stíga inn í spennandi og ófyrirsjáanlegt ævintýri sem heldur hlustandanum föngnum frá upphafi til enda.
Á dagskránni eru verk eftir Rossini, Grieg, Khatsjatúrjan, Brahms og fleiri klassíska meistara en skapandi endurvinnsla setur sterkan svip á tónleikana.
Tónleikarnir, sem eru sniðnir að ungum áheyrendum, eru um klukkustundarlangir og án hlés.

Thomas and Jesper are percussion geniuses who form the duo Trash. They lead audiences at the family concerts, along with the Iceland Symphony Orchestra, into a dynamic and exciting sound world where classical performance merges with unconventional instruments and unique sound sources. The percussionists use, amongst other things, trash cans, wheels, and pipes in an original and creative way, transforming noise into resonant beauty. Concertgoers are invited to step into an exciting and unpredictable adventure that keeps the listener captivated from beginning to end.
The program includes works by Rossini, Grieg, Khachaturian, Brahms and other classical masters, but creative recycling put their stamp on the concert.
The concert, which is aimed towards young audiences, is about an hour long, without an intermission.
