#Be_The_1: Amplify. Advocate. Write.

As part of the #Be_The_1 campaign, CAMP Rehoboth is excited to host a remote workshop on Thursday, Jul. 24 at 7 p.m. called “Amplify. Advocate. Write.”

Are you passionate about writing and standing up for the LGBTQ+ community? Use your voice and writing skills to submit an Op-Ed or Letter to the Editor in support of equality and inclusion. CAMP Rehoboth Communications Manager Matty Brown will facilitate this session.

#Be_the_1 is more than a campaign—it’s a rallying cry for change, a community-driven movement inspired by the 2023 research from The Trevor Project. “LGBTQ+ young people who felt accepted by a parent or caregiver had 40% lower odds of attempting suicide.”

Kickstarted by Transitions Delaware, the campaign has many community partners and seeks to empower allies with the tools they need to create safe, affirming spaces for LGBTQ+ youth. Together, we can foster a culture of acceptance, resilience, and hope.
