Purnakala School of Indian Art is delighted to bring in-person traditional Indian art workshops to the Seattle community! Join us for a series of workshops, each showcasing an iconic art form from India. In each workshop you will create a "masterpiece" to take home while learning tips and tricks specific to the art forms and mediums used. In the first module, from Sept 2025 to Jan 2026, we will be exploring Classical Painting Traditions of Southern India.

December 2025: Kerala Mural Painting
In December, step into the centuries-old tradition of South India's Keral Mural Painting which adorns the walls of ancient temples and palaces in Kerala. In this workshop, we will explore the fundamental lines and patterns which form the building blocks of creating Kerala murals and learn the traditional technique of painting using the Panchavarnam color palette.
Take home your unique masterpiece ( Matsya on 8x10in canvas) that is sure to add a pop of color to your walls.

Fee: $85 (Fee Includes all materials for in-class use. It also includes the new sales tax levied by WA state since Oct 1st for live presentations.)
Who can attend?
Adults of all skill levels are welcome. Come create in a friendly community setting. No drawing or painting background required. Step-by-step instructions will be provided.
