✨ About María Fernanda Calderón
María Fernanda (Mafe) Calderón is a bilingual educator, author, and the founder of New Gaia Press, a publishing initiative focused on emotionally intelligent, culturally rich learning. With a Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction and certifications in Special Education and Bilingual Education, Mafe blends science, soul, and story in every learning experience. She is the creator of over 15 bilingual children’s books and a passionate advocate for neurodivergent and multilingual learners. Her teaching practice is rooted in love, connection, and creativity.
🦫Special Guest Segment: The Secret of the Squirrels with Paula & Victoria
Paula and Victoria—Mafe’s daughters—will be leading a beautiful storytelling session using the book The Secret of the Squirrels. Through the story, they will guide children and families in a playful conversation around family, cultural heritage, and the rhythm of the seasons, highlighting how storytelling can become a healing, connecting ritual.
This activity is suitable for children ages 4–10, and includes discussion, simple art prompts, and family engagement strategies.
✨About Paula & Victoria
Paula is a substitute teacher and certified ADHD coach, working closely with children and teens to build confidence, executive functioning, and emotional awareness. Her lived experience and passion for helping others shine through every interaction.
Victoria is currently studying Art Therapy and brings a unique sensitivity to her work with children. Her warm and inclusive approach helps children explore their inner world through color, creativity, and connection.
