Vintage aviation Night Shoot

Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome will be hosting a night photo event on October 4, 2025. This is a rare opportunity to photograph the vintage aircraft at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome. Night engine-run photo shoots have become very popular with aviation photographers and are a unique way to look at aircraft. The resulting photos are dramatic, simple, and clean.

Six aircraft will be positioned and lighted for a night engine run. The aircraft will be lighted one at a time with continuous source LEDs and run for approximately eight minutes each. This is ample time to photograph each aircraft from all angles and get that “disc-effect” of the turning propeller.

About the Coordinator:
Tom Pawlesh will lead and light this night's event. He is a retired airline pilot with a lifetime love of aviation and photography. When he wasn’t flying airplanes, he was photographing them.

IMPORTANT INFO:
This event is weather-dependent. If inclement weather prevents us from holding it, your payment will become a donation to support the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome; no refunds will be issued.
It will be cold, please dress accordingly.

Limited to 40 photographers, advance ticket purchase is required.
Arrive at 5:30 pm, shooting will be from 6:15 pm to 9:00 pm.
