January 25, 2026 1-4pm Turtle Bay Bird Sanctuary
Meet with members of the Shasta Birding Society for a Sunday
afternoon of Environmental Stewardship at the bird blind on the
Bird Sanctuary Trail. Park at the Monolith.
We work slowly and carefully digging out the crowns of invasive
Himalayan blackberry, while preserving any native plants growing
in the area. Rain has softened the ground.
We use hand tools only ( no W**d whackers.) Please bring a
pointed shovel, hoe or other W**d puller tool, loppers, and leather
gloves.
Hope you can join us in tending the earth and protecting native
plants. Please RSVP to Stephanie at
