The Count Basie Center for the Arts is proud to announce the first-ever Roast Of New Jersey, a one-night only comedy concert taking place Saturday, February 28th at the venue’s historic theater at 99 Monmouth Street, Red Bank.
Hosted by famed ‘Roastmaster General’ comic JEFF ROSS, the Roast Of New Jersey will be an evening of jokes and barbs aimed squarely at the Garden State. As a regular on the COMEDY CENTRAL ROASTS, Jeff has roasted some of the industry’s most famous people including Alec Baldwin, Bruce Willis, Justin Bieber, Roseanne Barr, Joan Rivers, Charlie Sheen, and others. His one-man show, “Take A Banana For The Ride,” was performed at the Count Basie Center in 2024 before moving to Broadway’s Nederlander Theater for a celebrated, eight-week engagement. The show was filmed for a future special on Netflix.
Rounding out the dais will be comedian JOEY ‘COCO’ DIAZ (The Many Saints of Newark, Uncle Joey’s Joint podcast), Impractical Jokers star BRIAN ‘Q’ QUINN, New York Giants legend and WFAN radio host TIKI BARBER, RICH VOS (Gutfeld!, Netflix, The King Of Staten Island), CHRIS GETHARD (HBO’s Career Suicide, New Jersey is The World podcast), BONNIE McFARLANE (Last Comic Standing, HBO’s One Night Stand, Comedy Central Presents), DONNELL RAWLINGS (Chappelle’s Show, Snoop Dogg’s F*cn Around Comedy Special), NATALIE CUOMO (named one of the New York Comedy Festival’s ‘Comics to Watch), CHRIS COVERT (Host, Jersey Shore’s Top Comic and Basie Center Cinema House’s Open Mic Comedy nights), Real Housewives of New Jersey star JOE GORGA, and VINNIE BRAND, New Jersey’s legendary comedy ambassador and owner of the Stress Factory comedy club in New Brunswick.
A mystery guest will end the night in defense of our great state, offering a rebuttal and perhaps revenge towards anyone who dares to ridicule our rest stops, industrial lands, the Pork Roll vs. Taylor Ham debate, etc.
The Roast of New Jersey is a pillar event as part of the Count Basie Center’s Centennial Celebration, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the organization’s historic theater on November 11, 2026. Additional initiatives, including multiple community collaborations, the introduction of the venue’s Walk Of Fame, the debut of the outdoor ParkStage venue in Freehold next summer, and other events are also slated.
