This January, step outside on a crisp winter night and experience Jupiter at its brightest during a special celestial celebration at the Branched Oak Observatory.
🔭 Jupiter Rising invites you to explore the king of the planets through powerful telescopes, guided presentations, and hands-on experiences that will make you feel like you’re traveling through space itself.
✨ Featured Presentation
Erik Hubl – Amateur Astronomer for Over 50 Years
Our featured speaker, Erik Hubl, has been chasing the stars for more than half a century. His journey began at just five years old, gazing into the night sky with his mom. By age eight, Erik was asking for his first telescope — a classic Blue Light Special from K-Mart — and the rest, as they say, is history.
Erik will take us on a captivating journey to Jupiter, sharing:

🌪️ The mystery behind the Great Red Spot, a storm larger than Earth
🌍 Why Jupiter acts as a cosmic shield for our solar system
🚀 What it would really be like to travel to this massive gas giant
