Let us know if you are running late or unable to attend. Your safety and the well-being of your animals come first—but please give us heads up.
Reminder: As stated in the rules, if you submit an entry but do not attend, entry fees must still be paid. Future entries will not be accepted until balances are cleared.
In the event that the show is canceled due to forecasted bad weather, the secretary will notify all exhibitors via email and post updates online/Facebook Messenger.
As a working store, we welcome the public in our cavy area. Important housekeeping notes for show day:
Set up: Arica has kindly prepared our show area in the past, which is a big job for one person. If she cannot set up the night before, please help in the morning by moving racks and items to the back so judging can begin promptly. Updates will be sent by email the evening before if same-day setup is required.
Cleanup: Please assist with breakdown tables, coops, sweeping, mopping, and resetting racks.
Many hands make the process faster.
Tables & space: Bring your own table if needed. Space is limited, so only bring essentials and allow room for the next exhibitor, especially during a triple show.
Tractor Supply support: While purchases are not required, consider shopping as a thank you for their continued support. A simple “thank you” goes a long way.
Food: Arica Abel usually coordinates a Chick-fil-A lunch order, delivered to the show.
Alternatively, we may order pizza for delivery. You’re welcome to bring your own food. Dunkin Donuts is nearby for coffee.
Shows: We plan to run all three shows simultaneously, though this may change.
Writing: Everyone must help with writing during a triple show. One person cannot manage multiple tables alone. Please contribute so volunteers don’t burn out and the event remains enjoyable for all.
Show Rules.
Health: If you are unwell, please stay home. Notify the secretary ASAP. You may also email, Facebook Message, or text/call me at 302-670-9912 in case of an emergency or if you are not coming.
Entry Fees: If you submit an entry but do not attend, fees must still be paid. Future
entries will not be accepted until balances are cleared.
ARBA Compliance: This show follows all ARBA rules.
Animal Health: Any cavy showing signs of illness will be removed, and fees forfeited. Please leave sick animals at home or in your vehicle.
Ear Tags: All cavies must have permanent ear tags for ARBA/ACBA shows. Judging is by
private ear numbers. Assistance with tagging is available; a donation is customary.
Carriers: Label carriers clearly (breed, variety, age, sex, tag number) to ensure animals are
handled correctly.
Exhibitor Responsibility: Exhibitors must place animals on the table when called. Classes will be called three times before judging continues.
Children: Parents are responsible for their children at all times. This is a public location.
Liability: The Chesapeake Cavy Club and Tractor Supply are not responsible for fire, theft, injury, or loss. Attendance and exhibition are at your own risk.
How to Enter Entry Information: Type your entry when emailing for clarity and fewer errors.
