Join us for the 13th annual Day of the Dead 5k, benefitting the kids of the Fox Road Boys & Girls Club (formerly Brentwood)! Founded by Centro Mexican Restaurant, this race continues to support vital after-school programs for the Latin American community. Over the past 12 years, more than 6,000 runners have helped raise over $170,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs — and we’re just getting started!
This year’s race kicks off at 9 AM, weaving through historic Oakwood Cemetery and looping back to Wilmington Street, where a lively street festival will take place after the finish line. Along the course, participants can visit two altars—one in the cemetery and one on Wilmington Street—to leave flowers and written messages in memory of loved ones.
After the run, the celebration continues with local vendors, food, music, face painting, a kids’ art corner, prizes from local businesses for top finishers and best costumes, and our famous dance-off costume contest! Whether you’re running, honoring a loved one, or just coming for the fun, this event is a vibrant celebration of community, culture, and giving back.
