Theme Bug:
This year, BugFest shines a spotlight on krill! These tiny arthropods may be small, but they have a colossal impact. Their massive swarms, which can stretch up to 60 miles, are so large they are visible from space. Beyond their sheer numbers, krill are also a crucial part of the global ecosystem, playing a vital role in the food web and even helping to combat climate change by removing carbon from the atmosphere. In addition to krill, you’ll also see marine decapods highlighted at this year’s event.
BugFest is presented by BASF. With additional support from Janice Swab, Murphy's Naturals, Wegmans, Syngenta, and Carter Bank. In-kind support provided by Armstrong’s Cricket Farm Georgia, Pepsi Bottling Ventures, and Hampton Inn & Suites by Hilton-Downtown Raleigh.
