About the event

Kintsugi Day
Course Leader: Caroline Hudson

Course Date: Saturday 31 January

Course Options: Full Price - £110 Early Bird - £99 (EB Deadline 31/12/2025)

Course Timings: 9:30am for 10am - 4pm

Course Information:

The Art of ‘Kintsugi’ is a metaphor for resilience, a process of healing and beauty in brokenness. The steps to complete the task of repair can be described as slow and methodical, perhaps even meditative. No matter how broken you may feel, God is eager to do his Kintsugi work in you. Let him bring you wholeness by turning to him in repentance and faith. His power is made in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9) and the beauty of his work in you will make a difference to the lives of people around you. Materials provided but please feel free to bring something of sentiment that has been broken that could be given new life.

Course Leader Information:

Caroline completed a degree in Textile Design and then went on to become a Teacher of Art and Design. She led an Art Department in a local secondary school. She worked with the British council on a Comenius project with a German, Latvian and Romanian School. After the birth of her twin girls she taught part-time, teaching Art and Textiles. She has painted many stage sets for Iford Opera including Fedora, Die Fledermaus and Falstaff as well as leading workshops for Noyes Fludd in Bradford-on-Avon.
She creates her own Art work and has sold paintings in local galleries. She has always been passionate about Art, Art History especially colour and pattern.
She is currently creating a collection of her own paintings as well as teaching Part time, Art, DT and Pshe .
Her faith and spiritual beliefs stem from a mixture of mostly Christian but with encompassing multi-faith ideals. Learning about so many different cultural Artistic approaches has broadened her approach to her own art and spiritual beliefs.
She loves having a connection with nature anywhere, running and yoga.
