Private Screening of Jaws@50: The Definitive Inside Story with Wendy Benchley

Join us for a private screening of Jaws@50: The Definitive Inside Story, a documentary from National Geographic and Amblin Entertainment featuring Wendy Benchley and Steven Spielberg.
Conversations with top shark scientists and conservationists are highlighted discussing the “Jaws effect” and how the film’s initial negative perception contributed to a renewed push for shark protection and a more nuanced understanding of these animals.

Rare archival footage and interviews are used to highlight the behind-the-scenes struggles, the groundbreaking success that redefined Hollywood and the subsequent shift in public perception of sharks. The film also highlights the unintended legacy of the movie, which inspired conservation efforts and led many scientists and conservationists, including Wendy Benchley, to pursue careers in protecting ocean life and safeguarding marine policy.

Wendy Benchley, the wife of late author Peter Benchley, will introduce the documentary and join us after the private screening for an exclusive discussion, Q&A session and meet and greet.
