In 2022 Rebecca packed her bags and flew halfway across the world on a solo trip.
She landed on a potato farm in Tasmania, working the harvester through long, cold days. Endless rows of potatoes, and a lot of quiet.
Writing became her way through it, a way to make sense of the noise inside when everything outside was still. What started as scattered thoughts slowly rooted themselves into something deeper, something that asked to be shared.
Soiled is a memoir of those moments. A raw collection of poetry, illustrations and reflections born out of silence, soil and struggle. This is Rebecca’s first collection. A personal exploration of uncertainty, resilience and the strange clarity that comes when everything familiar disappears.
Each copy has been hand-bound at Kotba Calleja’s studio, stitched with care to hold the weight of the words inside. Every book is a small, tangible piece of Rebecca’s story.
