SNUGGLES PET RESORT'S CATTERY OPEN DAY SUNDAY 15 JUNE 11.00AM - 3.00PM
Dear cat and dog owners,
The owners of Snuggles Pet Resort, Lana and Noel, invite you to come out to Michelago to see our new, world class cat boarding facility.
We will be providing guided tours of the facility and owners and staff will be on-hand to answer any questions you might have.
Snuggles' new cattery is a carefully and thoughtfully designed facility for cats, encouraging them to maintain their natural behaviours.
Each cat suite provides a minimum area of 2m wide x 2m deep x 2.35m high, others will have an outside room of similar size to explore, with natural fittings like tree branches and plants, in a secure environment.
To add that special touch for the cats, we will be planting some bird-attracting bushes around the building perimeter and adding some bird feeders and bird baths to entertain the cats. This also provides cats with the opportunity to express their hunting and stalking behaviours without endangering either the birds or the cats.
Other suites, like our family suites and our themed rooms are much larger rooms, with most having an outdoor area to explore as well.
The fit-out to all the themed rooms was painstakingly handcrafted by Lana, to provide cats and owners with the little bit of extra comfort, luxury and homeliness that cat cages or cat cupboards just cannot provide. I am absolutely positive that anyone that visits us on our Open Day will be amazed by Lana's work.
Every suite has lots of different height platforms for the cats to jump around on, or to just sit on and enjoy the views from up high, where cats like to be.
There is so much room for cats to enjoy, with most of it completely private from other cats next door or across the room. This has been deliberately done to both provide a sense of safety and yet still have the option to see their neighbours if they want to.
Its this sort of choice, what to do, where to sit, who to see, what to watch, inside or outside, etc, that stimulates your cat's mind, encourages it to move about and display natural behaviours (along with toys we provide), and to minimise their stress and enjoy their holiday with us.
It is exactly the same principle as with our kennels, but cats need that little bit extra because their separation anxiety is higher than dogs (particularly if left at home unattended for more than a day), and they need to be around people or activity or other cats nearby that can't unsettle them.
