Sydney book launch: Year of the Ox by Andrew Brooks

Year of the Ox is a book about history and crisis. Comprised of two long poems –’Year of the Ox’ and ‘Dream Gig’ – the book assembles a non-linear history of colonial and capitalist crises which are offset by attention to the pleasures of collective life in the service of utopian horizons: friendship, pop songs, films, poems, snacks, solidarity, anger, love.

Launched by Gabriel Curtin, with additional readings by Hasib Hourani and Astrid Lorange.
