StompBoxTrio is a Western Massachusetts-based band that blends the deep grooves of 20th-century American blues, rock, and soul with a modern, 21st-century flair—creating a sound that’s soulful, raw, and irresistibly danceable.
What began as a one-off gig in the fall of 2017 quickly turned into something more. From their very first rehearsal, the group discovered a powerful musical chemistry, rooted in their shared love and deep respect for American roots and blues traditions. That spark inspired them to keep going—evolving into an eclectic, high-energy trio that continues to connect with audiences of all ages.
The trio features:
Evelyn Harris – powerhouse vocals & percussion
John Cabán – dobro, vocals & stompbox
Paul Kochanski – upright & electric bass, vocals & foot percussion
Together, they bring a rich tapestry of sound that’s as steeped in history as it is alive with innovation.
The Twilight On The Tavern Lawn Series is a series of bluegrass, Americana, world, swing, and pop music summer concerts running every other Sunday from June 1 through August 24. All concerts begin at 6:00 pm in downtown Putney on the Putney Tavern lawn (bring a lawn chair or blanket) or at Next Stage at 15 Kimball Hill in case of rain. The series is sponsored by Next Stage, the Town of Putney, and many Putney area businesses and organizations. The concerts are free to the public (donations are accepted) and food will be available.
