Bar Takeover - Catoctin Breeze, Jake Busching, and Wound Tight
Catoctin Breeze (Thurmont, MD): Catoctin Breeze has planted a flag with a sincere goal of crafting elegant and outstanding Maryland wine. Their vision is to express the personality of their land in every bottle. WFW has been following their wines for a few years now, and we are excited to welcome them for their first Takeover.
Jake Busching (Charlottesville, VA): Jake Busching, winemaker extraordinaire, is about a decade into his private brand of small batch artisanal wines. He makes a killer Cab Franc, a showstopping Tannat, and he might be the only human who loves Virginia Chenin Blanc more than we do. Really, though, he needs no introduction here. He's had the December Takeover slot since we opened our doors. He is contractually obligated to return each year.
Wound Tight: The project of winemaker Corry Craighill, of Septenary winery. Wound Tight wines stars with a unique winemaking technique or interesting grape variety and unfold in creative and spontaneous ways. Her goal is to create wines that spark curiosity about what it means to be low-intervention, natural wine, or experimental.
$30 at the door / $25 in advance (includes full tasting)
Wines will be available for purchase by the bottle while supplies last. Come early! Stay late!
