Interested in helping your community better understand the realities of poverty?
Join us for a Poverty Simulation Volunteer Information Session to learn how you can get involved as a community role player in future simulations.
Our goal is to build a dedicated pool of trained volunteers who are ready to support upcoming poverty simulation events.
WHAT THIS SESSION IS
✔️ An overview of the Poverty Simulation
✔️ An explanation of volunteer roles and expectations
✔️ A chance to ask questions and decide if volunteering is right for you
🚫 This is not the actual poverty simulation.
No role-playing or simulation activities will take place at this session.
VOLUNTEER ROLES INCLUDE
• Representing community agencies (social services, schools, employers, banks, utilities, etc.)
• Helping participants navigate real-life systems with limited resources
• Supporting an interactive learning experience that builds empathy and understanding
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
• Community members
• College students
• Professionals
• Anyone interested in poverty education, advocacy, or community engagement
No prior experience required.
