One of your friends (the one whose parents were doing alright 💸) pulls out a brand new Sony Ericsson and says: "Yo, check this tune out, some guy called Radikal Guru made an Alborosie remix!"
🎶A slow skank followed with what can be best described as a cacophony of echoed voices starts blasting from the miniature mobile phone speaker.
"Sipple it down, down, Sipple it down, down, It's a rude bwoy town It's Kingston town..."
The drum rolls, then the bass drops and the wobbly riddim rides on...
👀 Everyone’s red-eyed and nodding in sync — mesmerized.
You don't know it yet, but this is a core event that will determine your musical tastes for the rest of your life...
This was the vibe all across this corner of the world.

Way before we got acquainted with the term "Moonshine style" or soundsystem culture in general most of us got in touch with the music the artists who cracked through the pores of the relatively early internet/youtube and the now forgotten art and the ancient art of Bluetooth/Infrared file sharing 🔁🔥of music through our mobile phones, one such artist that captured the ever evolving sound of bass culture was, and still is RADIKAL GURU ...
🇵🇱 Hailing from Poland, Mateusz Miller shaped a deep, urban, mysterious fusion of dub, reggae & dubstep — perfect for a new era of heads 👑
A new style was born in that era, not as harsh and alienating like the mainstream Dubstep sounds to some ears, nor slow and "boring" as roots was to some younger dreadz, it was deep, dynamic, urban and had a shrew of mystery to it, a style tailor-made for the 2010s!
Bukkha, Numa Crew, Dubbing Sun and others soon followed, But the originator?

had the pleasure of meeting! He cast his street cred into stone in his
youth with the infamous Dem Crew (talking about nostalgia) soon
followed up with the homegrown trip-hop of Soundcheck Regazz and
nowadays with his Toni Disco alter ego. pusti bit yo, all night long! 🪩

Upravo je završio još jedan dosadan školski dan i visiš sa ekipom na standardnoj lokaciji — možda školsko igralište, ili je bio onaj sumnjivi parkić 🌳?
☀️ Popodnevno sunce polako zalazi na zapadu... neka pljuga ide u krug, Svi nešto njurgaju o onom profi iz matematike. Jedan frend paničari zbog jedinice u imenikukoji njegov stari nikako ne smije saznat
I odjednom... se dogodi.
Jedan iz ekipe (onaj sa doborstojećim starcima💸) vadi novi Sony Ericsson i kaže:
"Eee, čuj ovo – neki lik zove se Radikal Guru, napravio remixod one pjesme od Alborosiea!!"
🎶 Lagani skank, praćen nečim što se može opisati kao kakofonija jeke glasova, krešti iz minijaturnog zvučnika mobitela...

Puno prije nego smo znali što znači "Moonshine style" ili soundsystem kultura općenito
većina nas se prvi put srela s ovom glazbom kroz rane dane interneta/YouTube-a i sad zaboravljenu vještinu Bluetooth/Infrared razmjene pjesama putem mobitela 🔁🔥
Jedan od izvođača koji je tada uhvatio duh stalno-evoluirajuće bass kulture bio je – i još uvijek jest – RADIKAL GURU
🇵🇱 Fraer je Poljak - tada pojma nismo imali, Mateusz Miller oblikovao je novi u do tada ne viđenu fuziju dub-a, reggaea i dubstepa – savršenu za novu generaciju ekiparaca
Pojavio se novi stil za tu eru – ne toliko napadan i otuđujuć kao što je mnogima bio mainstream dubstep, niti previše spor i "dosadan" kao što je roots bio mlađioj bandi –
već dubok, dinamičan, urban, s dozom tajnovitosti...
Stil skrojen za 2010-e!
