Join Us for a 5-Week Elemental Yin Yoga Journey
Starting September 24th and continuing weekly through October 22nd (Sept 24, Oct 1, 8, 15 & 22), this deeply nourishing yin yoga course explores the five elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM): Fire, Wood, Water, Earth, and Metal. Each 60-minute class is themed around one of these elements, guiding you through long-held (3–5 minute) postures designed to stimulate the associated meridian lines and bring balance to the organ systems and emotions linked with that element. After each pose, you’ll rest back into stillness—either in shavasana or crocodile pose—allowing the body to integrate and recoil from the stretch, creating space for profound energetic and physical shifts.
Fire Element:
The fire element governs the heart and small intestine meridians, which run through the chest, shoulders, and arms. This class will focus on opening the upper body and chest space to cultivate joy, compassion, and clarity. Fire represents connection and enthusiasm; we’ll work on regulating this energy to avoid burnout and invite warmth without overwhelm.
Wood Element:
Wood corresponds to the liver and gallbladder meridians, flowing through the sides of the body, hips, and inner legs. Associated with growth, direction, and determination, this class encourages a sense of purpose while softening tension in the body’s deeper connective tissues. We’ll support the detoxification process and help release stored frustration or stagnation in the body and mind.
Water Element:
Linked with the kidneys and bladder, the water element travels through the spine, hamstrings, and inner thighs. This class taps into your reserves of energy and resilience, gently encouraging surrender and restoration. Water is the element of wisdom and flow; we’ll focus on nourishing the nervous system and building trust in the body’s rhythms and cycles.
Earth Element:
Earth governs the stomach and spleen meridians, which run through the front body, thighs, and core. This class centers on grounding and stability, enhancing digestion and emotional balance. The earth element helps us feel supported and centered—ideal for times of change or transition. We’ll explore themes of nurturing, nourishment, and connectedness.
Metal Element:
The metal element is tied to the lungs and large intestine meridians, which move through the upper back, shoulders, arms, and sides of the torso. This class invites reflection and release, helping you let go of what no longer serves you. Metal supports clarity, structure, and inspiration; this practice will encourage deep breaths, internal space, and emotional lightness.
All levels welcome—no prior yin yoga experience necessary.
Come as you are, and leave more grounded, open, and balanced.
